Sentence Builder
Drag the words into order to make a real sentence — with a capital letter and an end mark.
Every sentence starts with a capital letter and ends with a mark: a period, a question mark, or an exclamation point.
What makes a sentence?
A sentence is a complete thought. It has a subject (who or what) and a predicate (what they do), it begins with a capital letter, and it ends with a punctuation mark.
How to use this tool
- Tap the scrambled words to drop them into the sentence line, in an order that makes sense.
- Notice the first word is capitalized for you, and the right end mark appears when you check.
- Press Check it to hear the finished sentence read aloud.
- Tap a placed word to take it back and try a different order.
Why it helps
Building a sentence by hand makes word order concrete, and folding in capitalization and end marks turns three separate rules into one natural habit.
Good for
Kindergarten and first grade sentence sense through upper-elementary editing.
