Terms of Service
The plain-language agreement.
Effective September 15, 2026 · Applies to homeschoolofthefuture.com and the Homeschool of the Future mobile app (together, “the Service”).
By using the Service you agree to these terms. We’ve kept them short and honest — the same spirit as the product.
1 · What the Service is
Homeschool of the Future is a homeschool operating system: daily plans, interactive lessons and games, printable materials, and record-keeping (attendance, hours, portfolios, transcripts) for homeschooling families. You stay the teacher — the Service is a tool that supports your family’s homeschool; it is not a school, and it does not enroll students.
2 · Accounts
- Accounts are for parents and guardians, 18 or older. One account per family; children never need accounts and use the Service under your supervision.
- You’re responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure and for the activity under your account.
- Give us accurate information, and only enter information about children in your care.
3 · Free beta
The Service is currently a free beta. Features may change, break, or be rebuilt as we improve it — that’s what a beta is. If we later introduce paid plans, pricing will be one price per family, never per child, and we’ll give you clear notice before anything starts costing money.
4 · Your records are yours
Everything your family creates in the Service — learner records, logs, portfolios — belongs to your family. You can export it all as plain JSON anytime, and you can permanently delete your account and its data yourself (see our Privacy Policy). We claim no ownership over your family’s data.
5 · Our content
The Service’s curriculum, lessons, games, printables, artwork, audio, and software are ours or our licensors’ and are protected by law. We license them to you for your own family’s personal, non-commercial homeschooling. Please don’t resell, redistribute, scrape, or republish them.
6 · Important: educational and legal information
- Homeschool laws differ by state and change over time. Our summaries, checklists, and record formats are provided to help, but they are not legal advice, and we can’t guarantee they satisfy your jurisdiction’s requirements. You are responsible for your family’s compliance with applicable law.
- Educational content is provided in good faith but without warranty of fitness for any particular curriculum standard or outcome.
7 · Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the Service: no unlawful use, no attempting to break, overload, or probe it, no scraping other families’ data, no reselling access, and no uploading content that is unlawful or harmful. We may suspend accounts that put other families or the Service at risk.
8 · Leaving
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for violations of these terms; where reasonable we’ll warn you first, and your export rights survive so your records leave with you.
9 · Disclaimers and limits
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data beyond what our backups and your exports can restore; our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limits, so parts of this may not apply to you.
10 · Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of California, and both sides consent to that venue. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
11 · Changes
If we change these terms meaningfully, we’ll update the date above and tell you in the product or by email before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
