Counting carnival review

Review and celebrate counting, comparing, adding, take-away, and positional words in a carnival-themed review.

Welcome to the counting carnival, a fun way to show off everything you can do with numbers.

Today mixes counting, comparing, adding, take-away, and position words into one big celebration.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Turn your living room into a mini carnival with simple games (ring toss, bean-bag toss) to make review feel festive.
  • Weave in as many skills as naturally fit: counting tickets, comparing scores, adding a bonus point, position words for where things land.
  • Let your child choose which game to play first - ownership makes review more motivating.
  • This is a celebration of 27 weeks of growth - say that out loud to your child.
Talk about it:
  • What is your favorite counting carnival game today?
  • Can you count our tickets and tell me how many we have?
  • What number skill are you most proud of learning this year so far?

Mastery looks like: Child confidently uses counting, comparing, simple adding and take-away, and position words together during playful, mixed activities.

Common stumbles: With several skills mixed together, child may need a reminder of which skill fits which part of the game - expected at a review point.
