Alphabet parade review

March and chant through the letters and sounds learned so far as a cumulative, physical review.

Time for a parade! March around the room and call out a letter and its sound with every step.

You have learned so many letters. A parade is a fun way to visit every single one again.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Use letter cards laid out in a path on the floor, or simply call letters out loud as you march together.
  • Keep the energy high and silly; a parade should feel like a celebration, not a drill.
  • If a letter sound is forgotten, supply it cheerfully and keep marching rather than stopping to correct.
  • Cover as many of the letters learned so far as time and energy allow; this is review, not new teaching.
Talk about it:
  • Which letter was the most fun to parade with?
  • Which letter sound do you want to practice more?
  • Can you lead the parade yourself next time?

Mastery looks like: They can name several known letters and their sounds in a row while marching, with enthusiasm and general accuracy.

Common stumbles: Losing energy partway through; naming the letter but forgetting its sound, or the reverse.
