Write about something you did

Write two to three sentences telling about a real event from your own recent experience, in the order it happened.

This week you are a true storyteller, telling about something real that actually happened to you.

Think of one thing you did recently. Tell it in order, like it really happened, first to last.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Talk through the event together first, out loud, before any writing starts. A clear spoken version makes writing easier.
  • Ask "what happened first? what happened after that?" to help sort the order.
  • Let your child choose a small, real moment. It does not need to be a big event to be a good one.
  • Read the finished sentences back and ask if they match what really happened.
Talk about it:
  • What real thing did you write about today?
  • What happened first, and what happened next?
  • How did you feel about what happened?

Mastery looks like: They write two or three sentences describing a real personal event, in the correct order it actually happened.

Common stumbles: Sentences out of order from how the event actually happened; writing something imagined instead of something real; stopping after one sentence without any detail.
