Sight Words: Like, Go, We, He

Recognize the sight words like, go, we, and he instantly, growing the bank of automatic words.

Four more sight words this week: like, go, we, and he. Adding these means you can build many more real sentences.

Go, we, and he are short and simple. Like has a Silent E at the very end, a pattern you will learn fully later. For now, just know it by sight.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Point out that go, we, and he all follow a similar short pattern, which may make them feel easier as a set.
  • Do not stop to explain the Silent E in like in detail yet. Just let your child know the whole word by sight for now.
  • Mix all eight sight words learned so far, from this week and last week, into one quick daily review.
  • Build a couple of playful sentences together using these new words out loud.
Talk about it:
  • Which of the four new words felt easiest to remember?
  • How are go, we, and he alike?
  • Can you say a sentence using both like and we?

Mastery looks like: They recognize like, go, we, and he instantly, adding four more words to an automatic sight-word bank.

Common stumbles: Mixing up we and he since they look and sound similar; trying to fully sound out like instead of reading it by sight.
