Compile a reading resume summarizing the year -- genres read, skills mastered, favorite books, and personal growth -- as a capstone celebration of the year.
A resume usually lists someone's accomplishments for a job. This week you build a READING resume: a summary of your accomplishments as a fifth-grade reader, to look back on with pride and to carry with you into sixth grade.
Pull together the whole year: the genres from Week 33, the growth from Week 34, the favorite book from Week 35, and the specific skills you have practiced since Week 1, annotation, theme, evidence, synthesis, symbolism, and more. This is a celebration, not a test.
Mastery looks like: They compile a complete, specific reading resume covering genres, named skills, a favorite book, and a genuine goal for next year.
Common stumbles: Being too vague ("I read a lot of books, I got better") instead of naming specific genres, skills, and evidence from the year.
