Weather Watch: Sun, Clouds, Wind

Observe and describe the weather using words like sunny, cloudy, and windy.

Every day has weather. Is it sunny? Cloudy? Windy? Look outside and find out.

Weather changes the sky and how the air feels on your skin.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Look outside together at the same time each day this week and describe the weather.
  • Use full weather sentences out loud: Today is ___.
  • Point out clues for wind, such as moving leaves or blowing hair.
  • Talk about how weather changes what you wear and what you can do outside.
Talk about it:
  • What was the weather like today?
  • How did you know if it was windy?
  • What is your favorite kind of weather?

Mastery looks like: They can look outside and correctly describe the sky and wind using at least one weather word.

Common stumbles: Confusing cloudy with rainy is common; looking at the sky together and naming what is actually happening helps sort it out.
