Little Scientists Review Walk

Take a cumulative outdoor walk reviewing senses, animals, plants, and weather observations from the whole year.

You have been a little scientist all year: using your senses, watching animals, growing plants, and studying weather.

Today is a chance to notice everything at once.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Take a longer, unhurried walk together, letting your child lead the noticing.
  • Prompt gently across all four areas: senses, animals, plants, and weather.
  • Resist the urge to lecture; this walk is about your child showing what they already know.
  • Praise specific, careful observations more than fast answers.
Talk about it:
  • What is the biggest thing you learned as a little scientist this year?
  • What do you still want to learn more about?
  • What was your favorite outdoor discovery this year?

Mastery looks like: They can independently make and describe at least one real observation in each area: senses, animals, plants, and weather.

Common stumbles: Needing prompts to remember each of the four areas is expected; this walk is a guided review, not an independent test.
