Garden Celebration

Celebrate the plant unit by sharing what was learned and checking on the bean plant progress.

You have learned so much about plants this month: beans, flowers, trees, and water.

Celebrate today by checking on your plant and sharing what you know.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Set aside a few minutes to look back at the whole unit together, plant in hand.
  • Let your child do most of the talking; ask, then listen.
  • Display the rubbings and any drawings as a little at-home garden show.
  • End with genuine praise for careful watching and patience all month.
Talk about it:
  • What surprised you most about growing a plant?
  • What do you want to grow or explore next?
  • How did it feel to take care of something every day?

Mastery looks like: They can share at least two real things they learned about plants and describe their bean plant progress.

Common stumbles: Some beans grow slowly or unevenly; if there is little visible growth, focus the celebration on the care and observation skills practiced, which matter just as much.
