Water It: Watch and Wait

Practice caring for the planted seed daily and observe early changes.

Growing a plant takes patience. This week, water your bean and watch closely.

Small changes might be hard to see at first. Look very closely every day.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Make watering part of a daily routine, such as after breakfast.
  • Model checking the soil with a finger before adding water.
  • Celebrate no change yet as a real, valid observation, not a failure.
  • Keep a simple daily drawing or tally so changes are easier to notice over time.
Talk about it:
  • Has anything changed in your cup yet?
  • How does it feel to wait for something exciting?
  • What do you think is happening under the soil, where we cannot see?

Mastery looks like: They can check the soil for dryness, water an appropriate amount, and describe the observation, even if it is no change.

Common stumbles: Overwatering from excitement is common; a simple one small cup of water rule helps.
