Mixed review: sound bingo

Review the six sounds S, A, T, M, C, and H fluently by playing a matching bingo game.

You know six sounds now: S, A, T, M, C, H. Today, play bingo. When you hear a sound, find it on your card.

Bingo is a fun way to prove how many sounds you really know.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Make a simple bingo card with six pictures, one for each of the six sounds learned so far.
  • Call out only the sound (not the letter name), so the game practices sound recognition specifically.
  • Play more than one round; repetition across a few rounds is what builds real fluency.
  • Let the child be the caller sometimes too -- calling a sound out loud is its own good practice.
Talk about it:
  • Which sound was easiest to find on your card?
  • Which sound took you the longest to find?
  • Do you want to be the caller next round?

Mastery looks like: They can hear any of the six sounds called and quickly find the matching picture on a bingo card.

Common stumbles: Matching by picture appeal instead of the actual sound; needing the sound repeated more than once.
