Rainbow gallery day

Display and talk about the color and cutting work made this unit, naming colors and skills learned.

You have been busy. You mixed colors, hunted for red, snipped, torn, and cut.

Today is gallery day. Lay out your favorite pieces and give yourself a little art show.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Help set up a simple display: a table, a wall, or even the floor works fine.
  • Let your child be the tour guide. Ask them to explain each piece in their own words.
  • Take photos of the gallery for their portfolio or to send to family.
  • Praise effort and growth, like scissor control, more than how the art looks.
Talk about it:
  • Which piece are you most proud of?
  • What was tricky at first that got easier?
  • What do you want to make more of next time?

Mastery looks like: They can name the colors and cutting skills practiced this unit and talk about their own work.

Common stumbles: Feeling shy about showing work; warm, specific praise usually opens them up.
