Frame your favorites

Choose favorite artworks from the year and make or decorate simple frames for them.

You have made so much art this year. Today you will choose a few favorites and give them a frame.

A frame can be paper strips glued around the edge, or a paper plate with the middle cut out. Decorate it however you like.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • A paper plate with the center cut out, or four glued paper strips, both make an easy frame.
  • Let your child choose the favorite art themselves. Their reasons may surprise you.
  • Decorating the frame is its own creative activity. Encourage a design different from the art inside.
  • Hang the framed piece somewhere special once it is finished.
Talk about it:
  • Why is this piece your favorite from the whole year?
  • How did you decorate your frame?
  • Where should we hang your framed art?

Mastery looks like: They select a meaningful favorite piece and complete a decorated frame for it.

Common stumbles: Struggling to choose just one favorite; framing two or three pieces is a fine solution.
