Draw your family

Draw a picture representing each member of the family, using simple shapes for people.

You can draw people with simple shapes: a circle for the head, lines for arms and legs.

Today you will draw your whole family. Think about who is tall, who is small, and who wears what.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • There is no wrong way to draw a person at this age. Circles, sticks, and blobs all count.
  • Ask your child to name each figure as they draw it: who is this one?
  • Talk about size differences, like who is tallest and who is smallest, in a friendly, factual way.
  • Write each family member's name under their figure if your child would like that.
Talk about it:
  • Who did you draw first?
  • How did you show who is tallest?
  • What is one detail you added to make someone look like themselves?

Mastery looks like: They draw a simple figure for each family member and can name who each one represents.

Common stumbles: Making every figure the exact same size, without yet trying to show who is taller or smaller.
