Shape art show

Display shape and movement work from this unit and correctly name circles, squares, and triangles.

This unit was full of shapes and movement: circle prints, houses, dough shapes, and moving your whole body.

Today is a shape art show. Set out your shape art and show what your body learned to do too.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Set up the display together, mixing art pieces with a little movement demonstration.
  • Ask your child to be the guide and explain each shape and each movement.
  • Take photos or a short video of the moving parts, like the balance walk, for the portfolio.
  • Celebrate specific growth, like better scissor control, steadier balance, and confident shape names.
Talk about it:
  • Which shape is your favorite, and why?
  • Which movement got easier over this unit?
  • What do you want to make or try next?

Mastery looks like: They name circles, squares, and triangles correctly and demonstrate at least one movement skill from the unit.

Common stumbles: Mixing up square and triangle under the excitement of showing off; a quick corner count fixes it.
