Draw and label a picture (2 labels)

Draw a picture with two parts and write a word label for each part.

You already know how to label one thing in a picture. This week you label two things in the same picture.

Draw first. Then look at your picture and decide which two things get a label.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Encourage your child to pick two things that are easy to draw and easy to sound out.
  • Have them point to each part of the drawing and say its name before writing the label.
  • Placement matters: help them put each label close to the object it describes, not off in a corner.
  • Two labels is more planning than one. It is fine if this takes a little longer than last time.
Talk about it:
  • What two things did you draw and label today?
  • Which label was easier to write, the first or the second?
  • How did you decide where to put each label?

Mastery looks like: They draw a picture and correctly label two different parts of it, placing each label near the object it names.

Common stumbles: Mixing up which label goes with which object; only labeling one part; placing labels far from the matching picture.
