Daily weather chart begins

Observe the sky and describe today's weather using a simple word: sunny, cloudy, rainy, or windy.

Weather is what the sky and the air are doing right now. Look outside. Is the sun shining? Are there clouds? Weather changes from day to day, so you have to check it fresh every time.

Starting today, you will check the weather every day and mark it on a chart. Scientists watch the sky closely and write down what they see. This week, you are a weather scientist too.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Step outside or look out a window together every morning at about the same time.
  • Make a simple chart: one box for each day, with room for a word or a tiny drawing.
  • Say the weather out loud together before writing anything down: "Today is ___."
  • Keep the chart somewhere you will see it every day, like the refrigerator.
Talk about it:
  • What is the weather like right now?
  • How is today different from yesterday?
  • What do you see when you look up at the sky?

Mastery looks like: They look outside and correctly name today's weather using a simple word such as sunny, cloudy, rainy, or windy.

Common stumbles: Guessing the weather without actually looking outside; confusing weather with the time of day.
