Helper Dress-Up Day

Act out at least two real tasks from a chosen community helper's job.

Today you get to dress up and pretend to be a helper you learned about, and act out what they really do.

Pretending to be a real helper is a fun way to show everything you have learned about their job.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Help your child put together a simple costume using real items around the house.
  • Play along as their "patient," "customer," or "student" for a few minutes.
  • Gently redirect toward the real community-helper jobs studied this unit if the play drifts into an unrelated fictional character.
  • Ask your child questions in character to keep the pretend play going.
Talk about it:
  • Which helper was the most fun to pretend to be?
  • What is the hardest part of that helper's real job?
  • What helper would you like to dress up as next time?

Mastery looks like: They can act out at least two real actions of a chosen community helper's actual job.

Common stumbles: Drifting toward an unrelated fictional or superhero role instead of a real helper job is common; a gentle reminder of this unit's real jobs brings it back on track.
