Days of the Week

Recite the seven days of the week in order and correctly name today.

A week has seven days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Each day has its own name, and they always come in the same order.

Once you learn the order, you can always say what day comes next, no matter what day you start on.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Sing or chant the days of the week together each morning this week, to any simple tune you like.
  • Point at a real calendar and find today's name together every day.
  • Ask "what day comes next?" throughout the week at random moments to build fluency.
  • Celebrate small wins -- getting the order right even once is real progress.
Talk about it:
  • What day is it today?
  • What day was yesterday?
  • What day do you like best, and why?

Mastery looks like: They recite all seven days in order without help and correctly name today.

Common stumbles: Skipping or swapping Tuesday and Thursday is extremely common; slow, repeated practice fixes it over time.
