Term review: the connected story

Consolidate expressions, equations, functions, slope, systems, exponents, and sequences as one narrative.

The term tells one story. Expressions are the language; equations are claims within it; solving is legal undoing. Functions package rules with the one-output law; graphs make them visible; slope measures their rate; systems intersect two of them; exponents change the growth engine from adding to multiplying; sequences are these same functions wearing list clothes.

Review by connection, not repetition: each problem below deliberately crosses two topics. When you get stuck, ask "which chapter of the story is this?" — then use that chapter's tool.

📋 For the grown-up teacher

Teach it (10–15 min):

Have them build the term's concept map on one page: seven topics, arrows for connections, their words.
Run the tank scenario conversationally — every question is "which tool, and why that one?"
Revisit their two weakest weeks (the OS records will tell you) with three problems each, not twenty.
Celebrate the arc explicitly: in ten weeks they went from "what's x?" to building predictive models.

Talk about it:

Which topic felt hardest, and what un-stuck it?
How are sequences and functions the same thing?
What single idea showed up in every week?

Mastery looks like: They can pick the right tool for a mixed problem and explain the choice in a sentence.

Common stumbles: Treating topics as disconnected recipes; re-deriving everything instead of recognizing the problem type.
