Book-to-film analysis — Homework
Think about a book you have read that also has a film or show version (or use the racing example from this lesson). Compare how one scene is told in each form.
- 1.Name the book and its film or show version, and the scene you are comparing.
- 2.How is the scene told in the book (narration, description, inner thought)?
- 3.How would (or does) the film tell the same scene (visuals, music, acting)?
- 4.Is the difference a required medium change or a deliberate choice? Explain your reasoning.
- 5.True or false: film can usually show a character's silent inner thoughts exactly the same way a first-person novel can.
