Type and Publish Your Report

Type a clean final copy of the informative report, including any text features, ready to share.

This week you PUBLISH your report -- typing a clean, final copy that includes your introduction, body paragraphs, expert vocabulary, and text features.

Use your keyboarding habits from earlier this year, and go paragraph by paragraph so the process feels manageable rather than overwhelming.

Before you call it finished, run through your full checklist one more time: content clear, vocabulary defined, text features included, and every surface detail edited.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Treat this like a real occasion -- publishing a report you researched and wrote yourself is a genuine accomplishment.
  • Let your child type independently, offering help only if they get stuck, since this report represents months of practiced skills.
  • Do one final checklist pass together before calling it finished, checking content, vocabulary, text features, and surface correctness.
  • Print or save the finished report somewhere it can be seen or shared, since next week's presentation builds on it.
Talk about it:
  • What are you most proud of in your finished report?
  • What did your final checklist pass catch, if anything?
  • How does this finished report compare to your very first notes back in week 20?

Mastery looks like: They type a complete, clean final copy of the report including all paragraphs, defined vocabulary, and at least one text feature.

Common stumbles: Rushing the final typing pass and skipping the checklist; forgetting to include the text feature alongside the typed paragraphs.
