Typed-answer practice week

Practice entering answers precisely on screen, including fractions and units, as the online test requires.

The state test is on a computer, so this week you practice TYPING answers cleanly. Type numbers without extra spaces, include units when asked, and write fractions the way the box wants (like 3/4).

Precision matters: 24 and "24 square units" can be scored differently depending on what is asked. Read the box label, then type exactly what it wants.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Have them practice on the actual on-screen homework in Type mode.
  • Teach clean input: no trailing spaces, correct fraction slash, units when asked.
  • Review the box label habit — it prevents "right math, wrong format."
  • Keep the math easy so the focus is careful input.
Talk about it:
  • How do you type a fraction in an answer box?
  • When should you include units?
  • Why read the box label first?

Mastery looks like: They enter answers in the exact requested format, including units and fractions.

Common stumbles: Omitting units when asked; adding stray spaces; typing fractions in the wrong form.
