Mixed review with test-style items

Practice mixed third-grade skills in the format of state test (SBAC) items.

This week mixes everything — multiplication, division, fractions, area, perimeter, time, rounding, and graphs — in the style of questions on the California test. Read each one carefully and decide which tool it needs.

Test smarts: underline the question, watch for two-step problems, check that your answer makes sense, and use estimation to catch big mistakes.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Practice reading each item and naming the skill before solving.
  • Reinforce two-step care and the sense-check.
  • Keep it low-stress — this is practice, not a real test.
  • Note any skill that needs a quick refresher next week.
Talk about it:
  • How do you decide which skill a problem needs?
  • What traps do two-step problems set?
  • How does estimation catch errors?

Mastery looks like: They select the right skill for varied problems and solve accurately with a sense-check.

Common stumbles: Rushing and misreading; using the wrong operation; skipping the check.
