Museum-Style Presentation

Present the published animal report and diagram as a museum exhibit, reading facts aloud and answering visitor questions.

This week your report becomes a museum exhibit. Set up your published report and diagram somewhere visitors can see it, and get ready to be the expert "docent" who explains it.

A good museum docent reads clearly, points to the diagram while explaining labels, and answers visitor questions using facts from the research, not guesses.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Set up a real display space, even a small one, so the exhibit feels genuine rather than just a paper handed over.
  • Encourage clear, confident reading and pointing rather than a rushed mumble through the facts.
  • If a visitor asks something the report does not cover, praise an honest "I am not sure, but I could find out" over a guess.
  • Celebrate the whole unit's arc out loud: choosing a topic, gathering facts from three sources, sorting, drafting, diagramming, editing, and now presenting.
Talk about it:
  • What part of being a museum docent felt the most fun?
  • What question did a visitor ask, and how did you answer it?
  • What is the most interesting fact you got to share today?

Mastery looks like: They present their published report and diagram aloud, clearly explaining at least one label and answering a visitor question using a real fact.

Common stumbles: Guessing at an answer instead of saying so honestly when a visitor asks something outside the researched facts.
