Publish the Report

Produce a neat, final published copy of the animal report, combining the edited text and the labeled diagram.

Publishing means making your best, final copy -- the version ready for someone else to read. This week you combine your edited writing with your labeled diagram into one finished report.

Take your time on this copy. A published report is something you get to be proud of and keep.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Make this feel like a real occasion -- special paper, a favorite pen, or printing a typed copy.
  • Let your child do the final copying themselves, even if it is slow -- the act reinforces everything practiced this unit.
  • Check that the title, written report, and diagram all clearly belong together as one finished piece.
  • Keep the published report somewhere safe, since next week's presentation is built around it.
Talk about it:
  • What title did you give your report?
  • How does it feel to see your writing and diagram together as one finished piece?
  • What part of the whole process are you proudest of?

Mastery looks like: They produce a neat, titled, final report that combines the edited writing with the labeled diagram.

Common stumbles: Rushing the final copy and reintroducing an error the editing pass had already fixed.
