Kid-preneur idea day

Plan an original simple business idea, including the product or service, the price, and the customer.

An entrepreneur is a person who starts their own business by coming up with an idea and making it real. This week, you become a kid-preneur -- a kid entrepreneur -- and design your own original business idea.

Your idea should answer the same big questions real entrepreneurs ask: What problem am I solving, or what do people want? What will I sell -- a good, a service, or both? And who is my customer?

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Brainstorm real problems in your own neighborhood or family that a kid-run idea could help solve.
  • Walk through the three big questions together: what problem, what is sold, and who the customer is.
  • Encourage originality -- this can build on the pretend shop from week 33 or be something brand new.
  • If truly interested, help your child try a small real version of the idea (with your supervision) to see it in action.
Talk about it:
  • What problem does your kid-preneur idea solve?
  • Who would your customers be?
  • What is one thing that might be hard about running this business?

Mastery looks like: They can describe an original business idea that names a real problem, what is sold, and who the customer is.

Common stumbles: Proposing an idea with no real customer or problem behind it, making the plan vague instead of concrete.
