Year-end synthesis: the full Algebra II toolkit — Homework

Set up both models fully before comparing them.

  1. 1.A town of 15,000 grows at 5% per year. Write the exponential model and find the population after 6 years (round to the nearest whole person).
  2. 2.Using the model above, set up (but do not solve further than isolating the exponential) the equation for the doubling time.
  3. 3.A different town starts at 15,000 and adds a fixed 600 people per year. Find its population after 6 years.
  4. 4.Compare the two towns after 6 years. Which model gives more people? Will the exponential model always stay ahead as time goes on? Why?
  5. 5.Across this whole year of Algebra II, name ONE connection between two different units you studied and explain it in 2-3 sentences.
