Gas laws I: Boyle's, Charles's, and Gay-Lussac's laws — Homework

Convert temperature to Kelvin first on every problem, and name which gas law you used.

  1. 1.A gas occupies 8.0 L at 1.5 atm. Find its volume at 3.0 atm (temperature constant).
  2. 2.A gas occupies 4.0 L at 200 K. Find its volume at 400 K (pressure constant).
  3. 3.A rigid, sealed can of gas is at 2.0 atm and 300 K. Find its pressure at 450 K (volume constant).
  4. 4.Explain in your own words why Kelvin, not Celsius, must be used in every gas law calculation.
