Circles: central angles, arcs, and chords — Homework

Use the circle vocabulary and theorems from this week. Remember a full circle is 360 degrees.

  1. 1.Circle O has central angle ROS = 64 degrees. Find arc RS and the major arc.
  2. 2.In circle P, chord JK ~= chord LM. If arc JK = 95 degrees, find arc LM.
  3. 3.In circle Q, diameter ST is perpendicular to chord UV at point N. If UV = 26, find UN and NV.
  4. 4.A circle is divided by three radii into central angles of 90, 150, and x degrees. Find x.
  5. 5.Explain why a major arc needs to be named with three letters, using an example where two letters would be ambiguous.
