Kindness project

Plan and carry out one real act of kindness, and describe how it helped someone.

Kindness is doing something nice for someone, without needing a reward. Small kindness counts just as much as big kindness.

This week you get to plan a real kindness project: pick one kind thing to do, then actually do it, and notice how it made someone feel.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Help your child brainstorm three real, doable kindness ideas, then let them pick one themselves -- ownership matters.
  • Make sure the idea actually happens this week, not just gets planned.
  • Afterward, ask what they noticed: did the other person smile, relax, say thank you?
  • Share a small kindness YOU did or received recently -- modeling it as a normal part of life, not a special assignment.
Talk about it:
  • What kind thing can you do today?
  • How did it feel to be kind to someone?
  • How did it feel when someone was kind to you?

Mastery looks like: They plan and complete one real kindness act and can describe, specifically, how it helped another person.

Common stumbles: Doing kindness only when reminded, or only when a reward is expected, rather than following through on their own.
