Citizenship in action project

Plan and complete a small real project that helps the community, and explain its impact.

This week you turn "good citizen" into "good citizen IN ACTION." You will plan and do one small, real project that helps your community.

A project could be making thank-you cards for community helpers, cleaning up litter outside, or making a "welcome" sign for a new neighbor. Pick something real, and see it through.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Help your child choose one real, doable project this week -- keep it small enough to actually finish.
  • Gather supplies together and do the project for real, not just plan it.
  • Afterward, always circle back to the reflection question: who did this help, and how do you know?
  • If possible, let your child deliver or show the finished project to the person it helped.
Talk about it:
  • What project did you choose, and why?
  • Who did your project help?
  • How did it feel to help your community?

Mastery looks like: They plan and complete a small, real citizenship project and can explain, specifically, how it helped someone.

Common stumbles: Choosing a project too big to actually finish, or skipping the reflection step at the end.
