National landmarks tour

Name at least two United States landmarks and one true fact about each, using pictures to explore them.

A landmark is a famous place that people recognize right away, often because of something important that happened there or something special about how it looks.

Today you take a picture tour of a few famous American landmarks: the Statue of Liberty, Mount Rushmore, the White House, and the Golden Gate Bridge, right here in California.

📋 For the teacher
Teach it (10–15 min):
  • Look up real pictures of each landmark together -- in a book, or online -- since seeing them makes the facts stick.
  • Ask your child which one they would most like to visit in real life, and why.
  • Point out the Golden Gate Bridge as a landmark in our own state of California.
  • Keep it concrete: one clear fact per landmark is plenty for this week.
Talk about it:
  • Which landmark would you most like to visit?
  • What do you remember about the Statue of Liberty?
  • Which landmark is in our own state?

Mastery looks like: They can name at least two United States landmarks and state one accurate fact about each.

Common stumbles: Mixing up which landmark goes with which fact or location, especially Mount Rushmore versus the Statue of Liberty.
